Process
Fifteen Heat Treatment Furnaces were defined in this project. The capacity of each is 1000KN with two / three temperature zones, twelve / eighteen, gas / oil burners, a blower, a damper, and a recuperation fan. Loading/Unloading wagon transfers Steel Slab into the furnace via automatic door for heating up/down process with a predefined temperature curve up to 1300’C. Construction of control system for 16 furnaces was divided into two phases 
Phase1: H1-H6
Phase II: H8, H9, 3x H10, 4x H11, &H12



Control System
Two PLC500’s, one AC motor drive, some temperature transmitters, PID temperature- controllers are main electronic parts of control system. One PLC is responsible for Burner Management with two strategies for different type of burners, either by PWM activation of burners, or continuous control of fuel & airflow. The other PLC is used to control the wagon, front door, Blower, Damper, fan and other auxiliary units. The wagon itself is equipped by an AC motor-drive unit to enable it for precise positioning into/out of the furnace.
A 1200 x 1000 x 2200 mm logic & control cabinet, an MCC cabinet, 12/ 18 local control boxes for burners, and a local panel is used to house control system for each furnace
